DREAM BIG Academy provides high school seniors
life-changing opportunity

July, 2015 - More than 50 Nebraska high school seniors gained a glimpse into college life at the fourth annual DREAM BIG Academy this July. Sponsored by ConAgra Foods and held at the University of Nebraska College of Business, students work with No Ceilings' Charles McClendon, UNL student mentors, and professors to learn basic principles of business, leadership, networking skills and gain exposure to future careers.

"I enjoy working with the students and seeing the transformations during the four-day academy. This could be their one life-changing opportunity. When they learn the potential they each have due to their own strengths, it is powerful and I want to give back," shares McClendon.

An Omaha native, McClendon wanted to leave the state, but all that changed with one opportunity.

"I was planning to go to another university when I attended a student banquet at Nebraska and the vice chancellor and I exchanged information. His passion for UNL changed my mind. I felt like he wanted me to be successful and he believed in me," McClendon said.
